A Query About Crazy Homeless People
Which comes first: the craziness or the homelessness? Are crazy people just unable to keep their jobs and pay their bills and therefore end up homeless, or does being homeless cause people to go crazy? I wonder...

that's a question i grapple with every day here in SF. somehow, i think the homelessness comes first in most cases...
In SF now as well and I hope that the crazy comes first. Frankly, the boom in homelessness during the eighties satrted with de-institutionalization. The sad reality is that most estimates put 50% of homeless as children and families...so, it's not just the crazy.
Did this question spring from a viewing of the newest episode of The Wire?
