Although I could care less about the majority of this article (I don't much care for 30 Rock, with the exception of Alec Baldwin), it does provide a bit of hope for the future of Friday Night Lights.
Also giving me hope about Friday Night Lights: apparently my mother has been e-mailing NBC after every episode, saying it's her favorite show on TV and pleading with them to give it more promotion and to renew it. However, she consistently says that she e-mails ABC. So it's possible those e-mails aren't getting to the right people. But I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she's just misspeaking.

Friday Night Lights in huge in our house. Wife loves it. I've gotten sucked into it.

From the sound of it, Arrested Development might still be on the air if your mom had been a fan...

Sadly, my mom didn't "get" Arrested Development. Even having Liza Minnelli in it couldn't win her over. But she also doesn't "get" The Wire or The Office (the UK version), so the fact that she likes FNL as much as I do is an abnormality.

Hi. Our entire friendship now depends on whether or not you said that after only watching a few early episodes of 30 Rock, or if you said that after watching the last, oh, say, 5 episodes of 30 Rock. You can be forgiven the first but the second is a dealbreaker. It's the funniest show on TV.

1) I say it after watching the first episode (awful all around), the episode where Jack is put in a sketch (his stuff was hilarious, the illiteracy subplot was not), the episode with Paul Reubens (he and Alec were funny, the rest was not), and the Source Awards episode (not funny). The show is basically dead air, or worse, when Alec Baldwin is not on-screen. Most of the jokes are completely cliched and predictable. Tina Fey can't act. Tracy Morgan is annoying. Jane Krakowski is wasted. Jack McBrayer makes me laugh, sometimes. It is better than, say, "Two and a Half Men," but not by much.

2) South Park is the funniest show on TV. Hands down.

This hurts me in my heart, but I guess we can still be friends. I'll give you some pot and maybe you'll like it more.
